Glass Plates
It is my love of color and the translucence and reflectance of glass that inspire these glass plate designs. Each one of a kind piece is thought out with the desire to excite the viewer. Colored sheets of glass are cut and pieced together, then overlaid with a sheet of clear glass and brought to a full fuse in the kiln. A separate firing allows the fused piece to take the shape of a mold. The process is slow and time consuming due in part to the annealing time and slow cooling required for each firing.
Treat these plates as you would fine china. They should not be placed in the microwave or oven. Hand wash, and avoid extreme temperature changes. Every carefully hand crafted, one-of-a-kind piece will change depending upon its placement and lighting conditions in your home.
